Highlights
On October 18th, thousands of people came together on Columbia Center Boulevard to stand up against authoritarianism and defend the values that make our community strong.
People showed up in inflatable costumes, echoing the spirit of the ICE protests in Portland. Signs called for due process, truth in science, the protection of education, and compassion for all immigrants. Our chants echoed from both sides of the street.
But beyond the costumes and creativity, what made yesterday powerful was the sense of community. We created a space where people could express themselves freely, connect through shared values, and process what’s happening in the world together. It was inclusive, emotional, and full of hope.
The energy was undeniable, and the message was clear:
What’s happening right now isn’t normal, and silence will only make it worse.
The normalization of corruption and the lack of accountability have weakened the checks and balances that protect our democracy. But when we come together like we did yesterday, we show that people are paying attention and that accountability still matters.
That’s why Indivisible Tri-Cities exists: to hold our elected officials accountable. We do it one piece at a time, starting right here at home.
Indivisible Tri-Cities is powered by local volunteers. None of what you see would exist without them. Our mission is to build a stronger, more informed community, one where people come together, learn from one another, and take action for a better future. Volunteering is how that happens.
Every person who shows up helps turn shared values into real change.
What you saw yesterday was the result of months of dedication and coordination. It didn’t happen by accident.
-
It came from our Outreach team, who build relationships across our community and bring new people into the movement.
-
It came from our Education team, who create voter guides and resources that help people make informed choices.
-
It came from our Media team, who make sure our message reaches the public through local coverage and storytelling to help our movement grow.
A huge thank you to our de-escalation team and pedestrian safety guards for keeping everyone safe, and to all our volunteers who make this movement possible.
